Milk Herdshare Details
1. Herd Ownership
Member purchases a fractional ownership interest in the Joyous Acres dairy herd. This ownership allows Member to receive milk from their portion of the herd.
A one-time, non-refundable share purchase fee of $40 is due at signing. This fee helps cover startup costs such as glass jars, administrative setup, and onboarding into the herdshare program.
2. Boarding & Care
Joyous Acres agrees to feed, house, and care for the herd and provide milking services. This fee covers quality feed and hay, minerals, labor, milking, equipment, bedding, cleanliness, and routine vet care, including a clean tested herd yearly.
Member agrees to pay a monthly boarding and are fee of:
☐ Full Share (approx. 1 gallon/week) – $68 per month
☐ Half Share (approx. ½ gallon/week) – $36 per month
☐ Quarter Share (approx. ¼ gallon/week) – $20 per month
Boarding fees are due on the 1st of each month.
3. Milk Allocation
Member is entitled to receive approximately the amount listed above each week based on herd production. Milk production may fluctuate due to season, weather, lactation cycles, or natural conditions.
4. Pickup Policy

• Milk must be picked up within the scheduled time.
• Unclaimed milk will be forfeited.
• Clean jars must be returned at each pickup.
• Milk is for Member’s household use only and may not be resold.
5. Raw Milk Disclosure
Member understands that the milk provided is raw and unpasteurized. Member voluntarily assumes all risks associated with its consumption.
6. Payment Methods
Cash or check is preferred. We can take venmo, cashapp, or credit card but a 3% fee will be added to cover the processing fee.
7. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement with 30 days written notice. Share purchase fee is non-refundable.
